Milwaukee’s annual Memorial Day Parade begins at 2 p.m.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee’s 148th consecutive Memorial Day Parade will be held Monday, May 27th. This year’s parade honors honors all women who have served or are still serving in the military, that includes Donut Dollies.

The year’s parade will feature over 140 parade elements — including color guards , bands, marching unites, vehicles and numerous VIP dignitaries.

The parade will start at 4th Street and Wisconsin Avenue, proceeding eat on Wisconsin Avenue to the War Memorial Center and ending at Veterans Park on the lakefront.

A wreath-laying and POW-MIA Ceremony sponsored by Milwaukee Memorial Day Parade Committee, will take place at the War Memorial Center immediately following the end of  the parade at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Since 1865, this ceremony to honor our War dead has been a Milwaukee tradition. It will be held at the Reflecting Pool on Fitch Plaza, which is on the 2nd (bridge) level of the War Memorial Center. The Metropolitan Band Will perform after the ceremonies.
